Remnant 2 Alchemist Guide: best perks, traits, skills, and all about this archetype

The Remnant 2 Alchemist archetype is one of the latest releases. It plays a support role in the game by providing defense for the team, boosting specific properties (like fire rates), etc.

This article is a complete guide to the Remnant 2 Alchemist, from unlocking it to its perks, skills, and traits.

Unlocking Remnant 2 Alchemist class

Unlocking the Remnant 2 Alchemist class requires the Philosopher’s Stone. This is acquired from the Manticora in Morrow Parish on Losomn. This hideous creature randomly shows up behind any of the half-moon sewer drains that are arranged along the walls. It keeps appearing then disappearing so keep your reactions sharp and quick to get a move up on the Manticora.

Beat it and take the Philosopher’s Stone, 1,000 Scrap, and 10 Lumenite Crystals to Wallace in Ward 13 in return for the Academic’s Armor Set and the starting weapons.

Once the Remnant 2 Alchemist class is unlocked, you can choose it when you make a character. You can also choose it when you equip the Philosopher’s Stone or when multiclassing is unlocked after your main Archetype reaches level 10.

Starting loadout

The Remnant 2 Alchemist has the Wrangler 1860 for the Long Gun, the Double Barrel Handgun, and the Bone Chopper for the Melle weapon. The Long Gun does high damage but has a low fire rate and slow reload speed. Consider choosing another Long Gun, something like the Blackmaw AR-47.

Remnant 2 Alchemist Trait

Potency

You can level up the Alchemist with Potency. Each level adds 10% of Consumable Duration so that at level 10, you have a 100%. This trait comes in handy against the effects of Root Rot and Curse. Other than that, it’s not much use.

Remnant 2 Alchemist Skills

With three long-cooldown skills, you need to use tact when using them as the Remnant 2 Alchemist class. Used right, they can give a boost to you and your allies.

Vial: Frenzy Dust

Unlocked at Level 5.

For 10 seconds, a vapor cloud appears to apply Frenzied. This Frenzied effect lasts for 15 seconds and boosts the Fire Rate, Reload Speed, and Melee Speed.

The best combination with this skill is with an offense Archetype, such as the Gunslinger. Unless you are not using the Alchemist itself to cause damage, that is.

Vial: Elixir of Life

Unlocked at Level 10.

For 10 seconds, a vapor cloud appears to apply Living Will. Living Will goes on for 20 seconds providing Health Regeneration and protection from fatal damage. Also, dead allies are revived if their health returns to full due to the regen effect. Such players are not eligible for this effect for the next 180 seconds.

The best feature is that it gives you and your team a second chance, especially when a throng of opponents materializes out of thin air.

Vial: Stone Mist

Unlocked at Level 1.

For 10 seconds, a vapor cloud appears to apply Stoneskin. The Stoneskin effect continues for 15 seconds and decreases Stagger and incoming damage, grants immunity to Status Effects, and boosts Blight Buildup Decay Rate.

A defense boost can be a lifesaver when you are on your last breath. This skill of Remnant 2 Alchemist proves useful in regions like Yaesha and Root Earth.

Remnant 2 Alchemist Perks

Spirited (Prime Perk):

At Level 1, Alchemist gets an additional Concoction buff. At Level 5, two additional Concoction buffs, and at Level 10, three additional Concoction buffs. Use this for status effects for you and your team, like Verdant Tea which increases stamina regen, or Mudtooth’s Elixir which boosts XP gains.

Liquid Courage (Damage Perk):

The default version grants 2.5% Damage with a level-up.

The upgraded version grants a 25% Damage boost with a 5% Crit Chance boost.

Panacea (Team Perk):

The default version applies a curative effect to every ally within a 15-meter radius while also granting 15 additional Resistance.

The upgraded version grants 10% Status and a boost in Blight Resistance to allies.

The best use of this perk is in providing support to the team.

Gold to Lead (Utility Perk):

The default version grants a 15% possibility of discovering ammo while scavenging Scrap.

The upgraded version grants a 15% possibility of discovering ammo while picking up Metals as well.

To be honest, ammo is plentiful in Remnant 2. Also, Scrap and Metal are useful in themselves. Not to mention, a 15% chance is not a lot.

Experimentalist (Relic Perk):

The default version applies a random buff for 30 seconds when using a Relic. This can’t be overridden.

The upgraded version grants allies within a 20-meter radius that buff as well. It lasts for 60 seconds.

An extra buff never goes to waste. This perk makes up for where the perks lack in useful stuff.

And there you go! That’s the Remnant 2 Alchemist class. This is the most “supporting” class of all the support classes in the title. Maybe not alone, but in conjunction with another great archetype, the Alchemist can prove its worth.
