League of Legends Jax Visual Update has been revealed. With new splash art, enriched lore, and an anticipated release date, the rework promises to breathe fresh life into this formidable character.
In a monumental move, Riot Games is rolling out a comprehensive overhaul for one of League of Legends’ iconic champions, Jax. Initially slated for a complete Visual and Gameplay Update (VGU), the scope of this transformation necessitated a two-part release. The first phase, a mini-rework, has already been implemented, while the second, focusing on the visual aspect, is eagerly anticipated.
Finally, Riot has revealed the new changes coming with the Jax Visual update, including updated splash art, icons, lore, voice lines, and release date.

League of Legends Jax Rework
LoL Jax’s VU transformation encompasses a sweeping redesign for his Summoner’s Rift incarnation, complemented by captivating new splash art for all his cosmetic offerings. In addition to a visual revamp, Jax is set to receive an extensive repertoire of voice lines, allowing for interactions with champions from the lore, as well as those hailing from specific regions. Notably, there’s a heartfelt line dedicated to Joe, a dedicated League fan who battled cancer.
While his base model retains a semblance of the original, it has been enhanced with a contemporary flair, exuding the aura of a newly introduced champion.

New League of Legends Jax Splash Arts
Jax’s core essence remains intact in his base splash art, featuring his emblematic purple cape, six-eyed mask, and his trusty ignited brazier stave. However, a discerning eye will observe a leaner physique, with a sleeveless top replacing his former long-sleeved hooded attire. The brazier itself exudes a more formidable aura, with menacing spikes adorning its apex, offering a visual testament to its enhanced lethality.
The skin variants have also undergone a significant upgrade, boasting heightened visual fidelity compared to their predecessors. LoL Jax will also receive a new Neo PAX skin, which is an updated version of the PAX cosmetic that players could only purchase in 2010 by going to the convention.

League of Legends Jax Lore Update
In a poignant gesture, Riot Games has further integrated Joe’s legacy into updated Jax’s lore. Back in 2012, Riot collaborated with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Joe, a player grappling with Ewing’s Sarcoma. They designated proceeds from Jax and his skin, Jaximus, to benefit the foundation. Following Joe’s passing, Riot immortalized his memory with the “Here’s to you, kid,” voice line in the Jaximus skin.

While the Jaximus skin preserves the cherished quote, all of Jax’s skins—excluding Legendary variants—now pay homage to an unnamed yet significant figure, likely Joe, as a hero to the Grandmaster at Arms.
