The concept art for the Green Goblin in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 has been found in the datamined files from the massive Insomniac breach.
Marvel fans are eagerly waiting for the next chapter in the Spider-Man saga following the success of Spider-Man 2, which featured both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. And thanks to the massive Insomniac Games leak, we are already aware of the fact that Spider-Man 3 is actually in development. But that’s not all. Recent information from the same extensive leak, totaling 1.2TB of data, has unveiled concept art for the Green Goblin in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.
By the looks of it, it appears that Insomniac Games is taking a different approach to Green Goblin compared to the traditional interpretation (the Monster version), and fans are quite happy with that. However, it is to be noted that the snippets are from a presentation from 2020.
Looking at the concept art, some fans expressed their excitement. One fan remarked, “I’m glad they went in this direction. The typical monster version of the character feels bland and uninspired.” Another fan commented, “It’s not bad at all, but it would be great to see more purple in the outfit, not just limited to the interior of the cape.”
However, some skeptics voiced their concerns too. One fan pondered, “It looks cool, no doubt, but does anyone else feel like it doesn’t quite fit into this universe? If he’s supposed to be Norman Osbourne after taking the G serum as hinted, shouldn’t he resemble an older, grayer version of the Goblin? Perhaps this is just an early concept,” while another fan noted, “After seeing Norman in all 3 games I seriously do not think that concept art works for this version of the Goblin. Needs more Defoe.”
Well, there’s been a lot of speculation about the direction Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 will take and who will portray the main villain. While the possibilities are vast, the most probable scenario is that Peter and Miles will confront the Green Goblin. Additionally, the Green Goblin’s appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, hinted at by his green and purple attire in the after-credits scene of Spider-Man 2, seems inevitable.
The breach at Insomniac not only exposed over 1TB of personal data belonging to the employees but also revealed critical game-related content, like screenshots, gameplay videos, character art, animations, design documents, and a lot more. The developer’s purported plan to release Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 in the fall of 2028 was disclosed in one of these leaks. This would come after Insomniac’s two other upcoming titles, Marvel’s Venom and Marvel’s Wolverine, which are slated for fall 2025 and fall 2026, respectively.
