Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the awaited Pokemon Gen 9 title has been revealed officially to the fans.
On February 27, Game Freak made the formal announcement of Pokemon Gen 9 at the Pokemon Day Presents conference. The two games, dubbed Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, will be open-world like Legends Arceus and include three new starters.
Despite the fact that the Nintendo developer just provided a teaser trailer, the footage disclosed the game’s name as well as the game’s starters. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet appear to be following in the footsteps of Pokemon Legends Arceus, with its expansive topography and mostly open-world layout.
“Pokemon Scarlet and Violet take a new evolutionary stride,” the official website said of the game’s design. Trainers can traverse an open world with no borders where numerous communities mix perfectly with the landscape. Pokemon may be found in many parts of the earth, including the heavens, the sea, and the streets.”
Scarlet and Violet, the recently revealed Pokemon games, will take place in a fresh new open-world environment and include a trio of new starter Pokemon. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the first entries of a new generation of Pokemon games, were formally unveiled by The Pokemon Company earlier today. While the teaser only showed a peek of the new environment, The Pokemon Company confirmed in a press statement that the new games will be open world, as well as the English names for the new Pokemon.

Here’s the official description of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:
“Trainers can traverse an open world with no borders where numerous communities mix perfectly into the landscape. Pokémon may be found in all parts of the globe, including the heavens, the sea, and the streets.
Trainers will enter the worlds of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet as one of the major characters, and they will wear different clothing depending on which game they are playing. Before embarking on their journey, trainers will choose either Sprigatito, the grass cat pokémon, Fuecoco, the fire croc pokémon, or Quaxly, the duckling pokémon as their first partner pokémon.”
The official description for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet reveals that the new games will be open world, claiming that the settlements have “no borders” and that wild Pokemon may be found across the territory, including on city streets. Players will also wear various outfits depending on the game they are playing.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will also be compatible with Pokemon Home, allowing players to import Pokemon from previous games into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to battle alongside them. Not every Pokemon will appear in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, like with Pokemon Sword and Shield, and only Pokemon that can be obtained in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may be transferred via Pokemon Home.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Pokemon
Scarlet and Violet do not currently have a number of Pokémon, but we do know that like the notorious Dexit from Pokémon Sword and Shield, not all Pokémon from prior generations will be available. With mainline Pokémon games in the future, this will be the standard.
The Pokémon HOME app appears to be the sole way for users to add “particular” pocket monsters to these games. This implies that “not all” Pokémon will be included in the next Nintendo Switch games.
While this isn’t shocking news, it may disappoint some trainers who were expecting to “get ’em all” and complete the National Pokédex. This would be similar to Pokémon Sword and Shield, which did not have the whole National Dex.
As of 2022, there are around 900 pocket monsters on record, which implies Game Freak will continue to cherry-pick particular ‘Mons. Junichi Masuda, the game’s producer, had stated that having more Pokémon in the game might cause concerns with combat balance.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release date
There is no specific Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release date as of this writing. The teaser, on the other hand, indicated that the Pokemon Gens 9 RPG will arrive in “late 2022.”
We may expect the next game to be released on a Thursday in November, based on previous release cycles. If we were to predict, the 11th or 18th of November 2022 appears to be a good choice for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release date.
Other than the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announcement, players were hoping for some other news as well.
Despite the fact that Arceus has only been released for approximately a month, many people were anticipating fresh DLC to be unveiled. After the release of Sword & Shield, The Pokémon Company took a year off and instead provided fans two expansions.
The plan for this year is far more grandiose. In a single year, players will have gotten the Pokémon BDSP remakes, the series’ first open-world spin-off, and a completely new set of mainstream Pokémon games.
We will update you with the new information as soon as it comes out, so keep following Gamevro.
