You can heal Oatchi using 2 good ways: Scrummy Bones and Drinking Nectar. But first, it’s smart to get the Heal skill for Oatchi. This skill makes him get healthy faster after fights with enemies. With this skill and the other 2 ways, you can easily make Oatchi well again.

1. Scrummy Bones

Oatchi loves Scrummy Bones – they’re his favorite yummy treats that make him feel better. These treats are easy to find in Pikmin 4 and they bring back Oatchi’s energy.

To get them, you can buy them from Russ, who’s in charge of the lab. You just need 3 raw materials to get these treats. If you don’t have enough materials, you can earn them as a reward by training Oatchi. Shepherd, the rescue captain, can help you with that.

To give Oatchi a treat, press and hold Y to take one from your backpack and throw it to him.

2. Nectar

Nectar is super useful to heal Oatchi. Nectar serves a dual purpose: aiding Pikmin’s maturity and healing Oatchi, your companion. You will discover Nectar in Pots, Nectar Eggs, and Honeywisps throughout the game. Utilize Oatchi’s rush ability when encountering Nectar Eggs to break them and restore his HP. Strategically using Nectar enhances your gameplay by strengthening Pikmin and ensuring Oatchi’s well-being on your adventure.

How to Ride Oatchi in Pikmin 4

In Pikmin 4, there’s a part where you learn to ride a dog named Moss in the tutorial. But when the real game starts, you have a puppy named Oatchi. However, you can’t ride Oatchi at first. You have to play the game and save a scientist called Russ. This takes about three in-game days.

When you first meet Oatchi, you will notice he’s too small to carry you. After you rescue Russ, Oatchi grows a lot overnight. Then you can ride him and go around saving your friends.

To ride him, press the X button. Your Pikmin friends can also ride with you. If you want Oatchi to jump, press the Y button. So, remember, you can’t ride Oatchi at the beginning, but after he grows up when you rescue Russ, you can press X to ride and Y to make him jump.
